The Battle of Rivoli

My friends and I are putting on the Battle of Rivoli at the Fall In wargaming convention. As wargaming lunatics we are building an elaborate table for the game. We are using our home brew rules "Eagles at War". We might publish them at some point, but that is a ways off. Check back often for updates as we document the building of the table.

The Battle of Rivoli (14–15 January 1797) Napoleon with 23,000 French defeated an attack of 28,000 Austrians under Jozsef Alvinczi, ending Austria's fourth and final attempt to relieve the Siege of Mantua. Rivoli further demonstrated Napoleon's brilliance as a military commander and led to French occupation of northern Italy.

  1. Warfare is a fascinating subject. Despite the dubious morality of using violence to achieve personal or political aims. It remains that conflict has been used to do just that throughout recorded history.

Your article is very well done, a good read.
